Crazy Life!

Life has been crazy lately! We've spent the last couple weekends working on projects in Reese's room. It's coming along really nicely and I'm excited for it to be finished. I'm also excited for her to be sleeping in it. Less than 4 months to go before she makes the debut! Right in the midst of all the work, Elliott ended up having his appendix out in an emergency surgery on Monday night. So, he has been recuperating from that this week. I think he took it easy for about 2 days and now he's back in the swing of things. 2 days after surgery he put together the crib! It looks awesome and it only took us 45 minutes to assemble it. The dresser should be here in a few weeks and I'm hoping it's just as easy since it's the same brand. Here are some pictures of the room:
Organizing the crib parts

Lucy might be a little jealous or a little confused....

Final product! Love it! :-)

We installed and painted new closet doors. I hope this is enough storage space for our little girl.
Her closet is starting to fill up fast!
Today we're going to look at gliders (again). Hopefully we'll get lucky this time. Also, Elliott has started refinishing an old bookshelf that I had in my room when I was growing up. My dad made it for us kids when we were babies and now it will be a part of Reese's room too. I love that. <3 It was originally finished with a light oak finish and we're going to paint it white to match everything else in her room.

This week I am just so thankful for everything we have in our lives. We have wonderful families and friends. We have steady jobs and a comfortable house where we can raise our daughter. And of course, we have our health. :-) Sometimes I am guilty of getting into a "keeping up with the Jones'" kind of mode, when I really should be looking around at everything I have to be thankful for in my life right now.

22 weeks

Several people mentioned I was looking more pregnant today. I guess they were right!

Biggest Cravings: chocolate milk and most foods in general (My appetite has increased significantly over the last couple weeks.)
Clothes: I'm still not loving maternity clothes because they're not super comfortable to me, but I'm looking forward to cooler weather, so I can wear leggings and boots.
Body: I have been more clumsy lately. I broke 2 glasses within 10 minutes one day. I'm still getting used to having this belly in front of me and I think it's throwing off my balance a little. Also, my lower back has started to hurt. I have a feeling the comfortable pregnancy stage is starting to pass.
Energy/Mood: I'm a little more tired than I was a couple weeks ago, but I think a lot of that has to do with teaching full-time again. My mood is great as long as my feet and back don't hurt and I've been fed. ;-)
Movement: Reese kicks every day. She usually kicks in the afternoon (around 4pm) and again late at night (around 10-11pm). I'm hoping this means she's a night owl like her mom! Elliott and I have really enjoyed this part of the pregnancy.
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well. I have to get up 3-4 times a night to go to the bathroom, which is kind of annoying. Also, sometimes it's hard for me to get comfortable when I first go to sleep.
Best Moment this week: Putting together the crib with Elliott and hearing him remark that it really looks like a baby's room now. :-)
Miss Anything? De-stressing with a glass of wine on a Friday night and wearing comfortable jeans (maternity jeans are just not doing it for me)
Looking forward to: finishing up the room and feeling her kick more and more

Love always,

Erin, Elliott, and Reese
