| Our smiling lucky charm! |
Dear Reese,
These last two months have been the fastest and most amazing months of our entire lives. Your dad and I are amazed by each new thing you do. This month you started really chewing and sucking on your hands. We can hear you sucking on those hands from across the house! You can also hold your head up when you're on your tummy. You don't exactly enjoy being on your tummy, but you tolerate it. Most nights you sleep in the bassinet next to our bed. We love having you close by and sometimes you even let us sleep through the night. Lately you've even been sleeping without your swaddle! Your favorite things to do are swing, sit up on our laps, hit the toys on your play mat, and take baths. In fact, you love the swing so much that we bought another swing with a plug-in! Your least favorite things to do are wake up in the mornings, ride in the car, and go shopping. We are really hoping you start to enjoy riding in the car since we do it quite a bit and it makes mommy really sad to drive around with a crying baby! Also, mommy needs you to love shopping because daddy hates it and I need a shopping buddy! Your dad and I make a pretty good team. We take turns feeding, changing, and bathing you. Usually I let daddy pick which ones he wants to do. One day this month daddy admitted he hadn't changed a diaper in weeks! I guess that's not daddy's favorite job! When you were 7 weeks old, I went back to work. It is the hardest thing I've ever done to leave you every day. You spent the first week with Grandma Jo. She came to our house and took care of you all week while mommy and daddy were at work. I think you and your grandma are going to be good pals! The next week we took you to daycare by my school. There is a lot going on at daycare and the first few days you came home totally exhausted. The best thing about taking you to daycare is racing over to pick you up at the end of the day. When you see that I'm there, you look over at me and smile. It doesn't get any better than that.
With all my love,
Mommy
